Is QuickMem free?

Almost all of it. Making and editing cards, images, spaced repetition and the daily queue, nested decks, Anki import, read aloud with your phone's voice, and sharing decks with friends are free and stay free. The only thing that costs money is the Helper's AI skills: the first ten AI-written cards are free, after which they need QuickMem Plus at $4.99 per month.

What does the AI Helper do?

It writes cards from a description or from text you supply, and it works on cards you already have. Seven skills run on our servers: create flashcards from a description, import from text, ask for changes to the batch you just generated, explain a card, split a card into the separate things it tests, make a mnemonic and save it as the card's hint, and tidy a card's wording. Two more run entirely on your phone with nothing sent anywhere: find duplicate cards, and a study plan built from your own review queue.

How much is QuickMem Plus?

$4.99 per month, renewing until you cancel. It is billed by Google Play or the Apple App Store and cancelled there too, not through us. It unlocks the Helper's AI skills; everything else in the app is free with or without it.

What is the free AI trial?

Ten AI-written cards, counted across as many attempts as you like rather than in one go. The skills that produce no cards — explain, mnemonic, tidy — do not spend it. It is a one-time trial for the account, so it does not come back, and it needs a registered account with a confirmed email address.

Can I import my Anki decks?

Yes. Open an .apkg export in QuickMem and it reads the decks, the notes, the note types and their templates, cloze cards, and the images. Cards appear as soon as the text is read and the images upload behind them. Both the old and the current Anki collection formats are handled. Anki import is free — there is a walk-through in importing your Anki decks.

Can I make flashcards from a PDF?

Yes. Pick a PDF, a .txt or a .docx in the Helper's import skill, or paste the text yourself. The file is read on your phone and only its text is sent — up to about 12,000 characters, and up to 50 pages of a PDF, per import. A scanned PDF with no text layer cannot be read, and the app says so rather than quietly returning nothing. How to do it, step by step.

Can I make multiple choice or fill-in-the-blank cards?

Yes. Every card has one of five types: flip, multiple choice, type the answer, true or false, and fill in the blank. Multiple choice asks you to pick from up to four answers, and any wrong answers you leave empty are filled from other cards in the same deck. Fill in the blank hides one word or phrase of a sentence for you to type back in, and type the answer forgives capitals, accents and extra spaces. Pick the type when you make a card, or switch any card to another type in the editor. The Helper writes flip cards, which you can switch the same way. All five types are free, and in the daily review a right answer counts as Good and a wrong one as Again. Each card type, with screenshots.

How does QuickMem decide what to study today?

Every card carries its own due date, set by a spaced-repetition algorithm in the SM-2 family. You grade a card Again, Hard, Good or Easy, and the interval stretches as the card gets easier and collapses when you fail it. Today's queue is every card past its due date plus up to twenty cards you have never seen, across your whole library — and then it ends. The longer answer.

Can I nest decks inside other decks?

Yes. A deck can live inside another deck, and the parent shows the total for everything beneath it. Moving a deck takes its contents along and keeps your study progress rather than resetting it; deleting a deck asks whether its contents should go too.

Does QuickMem work offline?

Your cards are cached on your device, so a study session survives a dead connection and syncs when you are back online. The Helper's seven AI skills are the exception — they run on our servers and need a connection. Find duplicates and the study plan work offline.

Can I share flashcard decks with friends?

Yes. Add a friend and share a deck with them; you both study the same cards and each keep your own progress. It is free.

Can QuickMem read cards aloud?

Yes, using your phone's own voice, with the voice, speed and pitch set the way you like. Nothing leaves the device and it costs nothing. If you would rather use a cloud voice, you can supply your own API key for one, in which case that provider bills you directly.

What languages is QuickMem available in?

Fourteen: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai and Turkish. The app follows the language your phone is already set to, and your own cards are left exactly as you wrote them.

Is there an iPhone version of QuickMem?

Yes — QuickMem is on both Android and iPhone, and your decks sync between them. Download it from the App Store or Google Play.

Do I need an account to use QuickMem?

No — you can start making cards and studying straight away. An account is what lets your decks sync between devices, survive a reinstall, and be shared with friends, and the free AI cards need a registered account with a confirmed email address.

How do I delete my account?

From Settings inside the app, or from the delete-account page. The account closes immediately and its content is deleted 30 days later, so a mistake can be undone within that window by emailing support@quickmem.com from the address on the account. Deleting an account does not cancel a subscription — that is cancelled in Google Play or the App Store.
